Long overdue

Welcome to the Newly Improved Long Look Designs Site! It took forever, but I am finally well on my way to revamping my site… with a little (okay, a LOT) of help from my friend Al at fithfath.com who has held my hand (figuratively, of course) through this whole painful process. Web design is NOT my milieu, my forte, or my spiritual gift. If my life depended on my html knowledge I would be in dire straits, indeed, so thank God for WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editors like WordPress and all the little html trolls who must exist somewhere in dimly lit back rooms to do the necessary coding for web un-savvy idiots like me.

The bad news in all this is that the old gallery, complete with its 2000+ pictures and comments from friends and family members, is gone. Gone, dooby doo gone gone, never to be seen or heard from again, thanks to a cathartic but not necessarily well thought-out expression of frustration to no one in particular at ipowerweb, my previous web host. (No, I would not recommend them to anyone. Their site is painfully UN-user friendly, and I was never happy with my main page. The gallery was fine, but that’s gone now, as I may have mentioned before.) I used to consider myself somewhat adept at diplomacy, until I realized that diplomacy, which is merely the art of saying “Nice doggy” until you can find a big enough rock, is overrated. Of course the alternative to diplomacy, that being indescriminately speaking your mind, does not necessarily provide the same results. In this particular case it resulted in my website crashing down around my ears while I frantically tried to upload images to my new gallery. Needless to say I have not yet successfully re-uploaded 2000+ images, but give me a year or two and maybe I’ll get that done.

In the meantime, take a moment or two to peruse the blog entries I’ve been able to post so far and click the above link to my new Gallery to see what I’ve managed to upload and rest assured that progress is being made… somewhere, in some field or another… and if you’re really, really good and check back here in a day or a week or a month or two I will eventually have more blog entries, and more gallery photos. Won’t that be nice?
